TOPS Bunker Podcast - A Podcast For Preppers
TOPS Bunker Podcast.
By no means are we the actual, original podcast within the preparedness genre, but we really wanted to have a mascot for the show and of course, that had to be the hairy man himself... BIGFOOT. If anyone was to be crowned, The Original Prepper Survivalist, that title should most definitely go to Sasquatch.
As if y'all couldn't tell, we like to keep things light and fun. And in most cases, that includes this show and as well TOPS Bunker Group on Facebook. We get serious when we need to... mad when we have to... but most days we're just kickin around Survivalist and Preparedness ideas and mindsets to help our listeners and ourselves, be the best modern-day Preppers we can be.

Keith
All right. So today we're talking about Intel. Correct me if I'm wrong here. Intelligence gathering in area studies. Is that correct?
00:02:36.43
Buddy
Yeah, it's ah we're we're talking about an intelligence collecting.
00:02:40.72
Keith
Collecting. Okay.
00:02:41.76
Buddy
collecting uh for shit it's a fan uh you know homesteaders preppers, survivalists and stuff. um
00:02:48.17
Keith
Urban Preppers.
00:02:48.39
Buddy
you know urban preppers anybody who's out there that uh you know lives the lifestyle that you know Cross references, you know what? Prepper is frivolous in all the things you mentioned. Um,
00:03:01.66
Keith
Okay. Okay, so.
00:03:02.90
Buddy
so
00:03:04.63
Keith
So let's start with, first of all. you're You're really taking this one on. So let's start with... How you got started. and like what drew you into you know to to this whole uh You know... ah Paradigm.
00:03:20.80
Buddy
Okay. Well, um Mainly. You know, I started I started prepping, way you know, about 2008. um we'll still in the military at the time.
00:03:33.40
Buddy
Um, I had a background in in reconnaissance, so I kind of worked in the Intel world slightly. um I had. Other assignments where I had to learn. um And I took some classes. they They gave me some brief classes on you know Intel collection. I'd get to a lot of briefings.
00:03:50.07
Buddy
uh ran a couple special uh specialty You can call them platoons or specialty. Units. That. I had to...
00:04:01.84
Buddy
You know, it just fell into my plate that I was, you know, the Intel guy. So I would do briefings. I'd go to get briefings. I would give briefings and so on. um
00:04:09.43
Keith
And you enjoyed it. you Obviously, you have a passion for it. so
00:04:12.73
Buddy
Yeah, and and and one of the ways...
00:04:12.100
Keith
Yeah.
00:04:15.53
Buddy
that I figured out that I could keep myself in the battle. you know so to speak was uh you know after you get older you get slower you know i don't run the gun as quick as i used to Not as fast on as that agile you know um As I used to be, so... i want to use my brain more than my back so to speak and so it was something i always wanted to learn and so i started i took a couple classes out that are out there
00:04:43.81
Buddy
with some people and decided hey
00:04:46.04
Keith
You got most of your training the in the... military, yeah in the army.
00:04:49.96
Buddy
Yeah, I got some in them. in the army but i i Actually, I got some pretty... good stuff from ex-military people on the outside Um,
00:04:59.73
Keith
Oh, okay.
00:04:59.68
Buddy
that's
00:05:00.20
Keith
So training.
00:05:01.24
Buddy
Yeah, training. And so I'm i'm ah um a student of life. I'm always out there trying to what we call improve the foxhole and military speak.
00:05:07.48
Keith
They call that. Continuing education.
00:05:10.46
Buddy
Yeah. Continue education. I'm all. all constantly taking continuing education so
00:05:15.54
Keith
Okay.
00:05:15.60
Buddy
um
00:05:16.19
Keith
So how does... Because, you know, this is a prepper show. So how does. This, um... How does this translate? Okay, to the Purpose of Labos community. as a whole not military.
00:05:32.37
Buddy
Check check.
00:05:33.54
Keith
Did you not hear me?
00:05:34.73
Buddy
No, I got kicked off there. so You have to repeat the whole thing.
00:05:36.25
Keith
Oh.
00:05:37.64
Buddy
As soon as you start talking, I got the.
00:05:38.09
Keith
Yeah, yeah
00:05:40.55
Buddy
the orange dot of death.
00:05:42.50
Keith
Really?
00:05:43.36
Buddy
Yeah.
00:05:42.82
Keith
it didn't happen It didn't happen on this side.
00:05:45.18
Buddy
Yeah, I don't know.
00:05:44.99
Keith
It's weird.
00:05:45.99
Buddy
It's it's been happening to me. so Go ahead.
00:05:48.61
Keith
Okay, so for the for the average civilian prepper, okay, so then we're not talking military. uh intelligence gathering intelligence collecting area studies these things Um,
00:06:01.59
Keith
I was going to say. Oh yeah. How does it translate? and let me Let me start over. ah Because that's the next question. Um, How does... So how does this translate for the the regular, everyday prepper survivalist community?
00:06:17.37
Buddy
so Basically, you you know you have an end goal in mind. with what intelligence collecting um you don't want to live your life you know in general at least i think you wouldn't want to live your life in a black hole where you can't see you know what's going on you know around you um I like to say that I'm a winner.
00:06:39.12
Buddy
And I like to win. So... In order to win, you got to. better your chances well how are you going to better your chances as a prepper survivalist you know homesteader urban prepper etc etc etc Well, you need to know what's going on around you because.
00:06:54.47
Buddy
You're not going to be able to prep for everything. I mean, there's too many
00:06:57.40
Keith
and knowledge.
00:06:58.53
Buddy
Knowledge is the key. Knowledge is power. um You need that knowledge. in order to Prepare yourself. Hence the word prepping. Prepare yourself for what's going to come. So if it's a shit, it's a fan event. If it's a natural disaster.
00:07:14.33
Buddy
Um, whatever it may be. and Basically, there's a lot of... uh unknowns out there that you just don't know. I mean, there's I've been doing this for, I don't know, let's see, 2017.
00:07:27.74
Buddy
maybe 2018 and I don't know everything. I do what's called area study. And. to I've taken a many classes.
00:07:40.08
Buddy
from mike shelby and he wrote a couple books he's got a new one out on how to do an area study i highly suggest you get that book and you dive into it and you read
00:07:48.84
Keith
We'll put it in the show notes
00:07:50.14
Buddy
We'll put it in the show notes. That's great. Maybe even attend one of his classes because he'll he'll put you in a workshop. And, you know, it's kind of... I'm almost saying it's not expensive when you look at that. information you get. Can you put...
00:08:05.64
Buddy
an actual price tag on your life. or your family's life. your survival. So, you know, the way I look at it is it's it's priceless and it's a bargain for what he charges for this class. so But he'll walk you through an area study to where you leave out of there with at the very minimum of basic knowledge of how to do an area study.
00:08:26.30
Buddy
And. you can go back and work on it now area study is a fluid document You're always improving it. There's new things that come in. There's things that go out. So you're always evolving with that area study.
00:08:40.97
Buddy
uh just like the wind blows and then it doesn't blow wind blows from a different direction then it doesn't blow
00:08:45.11
Keith
So what does this look like? is this ah Is this stuff that you're all just collecting in your head? Or do you actually have a notebook? or i mean are you putting it to Are you putting pen to paper? Are you you know clicking and clicking on the computer? What are you doing with this?
00:08:56.38
Buddy
So there's a lot of different ways you can do that. you can you know do massive spreadsheets if you're if you're one of those spreadsheet guys um i'm kind of a three ring binder type of person where um i'll put it on in a three-way ring binder and there's a lot of reasons why i do that it's kind of old school i'm waste i'm killing trees you know hey um I've got several binders. but I can take those binders with me if I need to. If if the shit hits the fan and I need to bug out, and I have a bug out.
00:09:25.19
Buddy
binder that has maps in it and so on and some of the things i'll mention later I'll grab that and take off and go. So. We're not actually, don't I don't want to talk about an error study because.
00:09:37.22
Buddy
It was. It takes weeks. to do to walk you through that.
00:09:40.02
Keith
Yeah, yeah. we'll We'll do area study on the importance of it and all that on another episode.
00:09:45.23
Buddy
Yeah.
00:09:45.62
Keith
We'll just stick to the actual intelligence, Gary. And where I'm going to be asking you about the ints coming up soon. So get those in your brain because I don't understand them and you will and you're going to help us with that.
00:09:55.58
Buddy
Okay.
00:09:55.67
Keith
Before we get to that. um Is there... Is there a difference? Between how. because you were in the military, the the army. Is there a difference the way the military does?
00:10:07.60
Keith
Um, intelligence collecting and that in the way that the regular everyday prepper such as myself would do.
00:10:14.22
Buddy
Well, that's a great question. so um Everything is. pretty much based on what the military does. So I'll try to use common language, but I'm military minded. So you can do what my ex-wife used to do is call timeout and say, what what is that acronym? You know, if I'm using an acronym or something that you don't understand in military speak. So.
00:10:37.78
Buddy
You can come out and, you know. Call timeout. And I'll elaborate. you know. Those kind of things.
00:10:44.65
Keith
Well, our military has been doing it for over 250 years. I'm sure it's been improved over that time. So why not take it from... you know, a military standpoint. I'm just wondering how differences between what.
00:10:55.63
Keith
What? Okay. What the military. is capable and allowed to do legally and then what maybe what you know
00:11:03.89
Buddy
Yeah.
00:11:03.97
Keith
I'm sure there's things that I would like to learn that are probably illegal for me to try and find.
00:11:08.61
Buddy
Oh, yeah, that's yeah's a good question, too. So the military has a lot of tools in their toolbox, so mostly a lot of stuff we don't have. And hold on a second here.
00:11:22.53
Buddy
So... with the military and all their tools in a toolbox they're they're going to be able to do things we can't we don't have these magic planes that can count the change in your pocket We just don't have that. So we have to get creative and and go old school with some of the ways of collecting intelligence.
00:11:37.98
Buddy
Now intelligence collecting is done in the corporate world. I've actually done a little bit of that. i've done it in the political world there's a lot of that going on especially it's a political season I've done a little bit of that. I've i've done...
00:11:52.99
Buddy
collection with different groups that have um
00:11:56.79
Keith
You said you had clients at one time that you were collecting information for.
00:12:00.39
Buddy
Yeah, that's an ongoing thing. So, you know, I'll get people. on and off to where you know they'll say hey can you help me out with this okay yes What do you need? what what are What's your requirements? What are you looking for? And we'll talk about that whole process. um as we go but um The intelligence collection is is done.
00:12:21.70
Buddy
every day with a lot of different groups. uh you know, not just the military and for preppers. A prepper. This is going to help you survive. you know Like I said, I like to win.
00:12:35.29
Buddy
And if you want to win. This is something you need to look at. So it's going to be what we call the military combat multiplier for you. You're going to be able to better your chances at survival.
00:12:46.67
Buddy
because you have the knowledge now you have a plan that you developed from Not just pulling something out of your ass. You have a plan. that is based on data facts uh you know a lot of different things brought together to formulate your plan and hopefully you can execute that.
00:13:06.53
Buddy
So that answer your question?
00:13:06.96
Keith
Okay. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah. So what do we... What are we looking at as far as what? What does a solid area study look like? for a prepper
00:13:19.34
Keith
In other words, Um, study their home region or their potential bug out locations or, you know, besides like maps and weather.
00:13:30.39
Keith
Because I'm sure you're going to talk about maps and weather. as as well. Those are the obvious things. What are we talking about? for What does it look like as far as other than that for a prepper survivalist?
00:13:40.82
Buddy
um Your area study is every... it and It incorporates every damn thing in your life. ah We're talking. Your neighbors, the weather.
00:13:51.70
Buddy
um The upcoming weather, the past trends, you're going to have you know you're demographics from the city you you live in or the community you live in or the county state.
00:14:03.71
Buddy
And we'll go more into this later. but
00:14:05.85
Keith
Oh, yeah, demographics, I didn't think about that, yeah.
00:14:08.40
Buddy
There's so many factors involved in an area study that it's infinite. And that's why it's in ah it's a fluid document that's... you know you're working on all the time.
00:14:17.09
Keith
Continually changing.
00:14:18.53
Buddy
Yeah, you're continually changing it. It's fluid. You're taking stuff in, you're you're moving stuff out. You know, the the data you. the data is only good as the minute you gather it, because data is changing all the time.
00:14:31.36
Buddy
Information is changing all the time. The world we live in changes all the time. So... You got to kind of keep that in mind as you're doing an area your study. And then again.
00:14:42.39
Buddy
you know you knowledge is power knowledge is a key knowledge is strength so gaining that knowledge, coming up with a plan is, you know, like I said. Makes you a winner.
00:14:51.98
Keith
huh Okay, so i I'm... Done for right now. go Go on with what you think you might have next.
00:14:58.49
Buddy
Okay, so... What I want to talk about mainly is... I don't want to get into their study so much as... because that's a big elephant you know you gotta to chunk it down and this is one way of chunking it down i i plan on doing uh if if everybody likes this stuff this information I plan on doing several of these throughout in or uh throughout you know the next few months in order to get everybody ready for an area study.
00:15:26.21
Buddy
that they can they can have the data in there and then they can put it together and come up with their plan so if that's if that's something people want you know it might be a bomb it might be you know everybody's like i don't care about it so
00:15:32.13
Keith
Okay, yeah.
00:15:39.06
Buddy
uh you know we'll I'm gonna play it by ear. We can play it by ear to see if it's something that's wanted and needed, and we can go from there. Um, So...
00:15:50.04
Buddy
i You know, I hope that. It is a it's something I'm passionate about and I've done it. And it's I see the importance in it. and I hope everybody else does, too.
00:15:59.37
Keith
Well, you know, and and The audience knows if they don't. um I did a lot of traveling and moving from one place to another, especially Rhonda and I both, from one place to another with the job that I had because we were building.
00:16:13.26
Keith
Um, We were building projects in different cities. And every single time we got to a new city.
00:16:19.100
Keith
And there were several. ah We would like very first thing we do is we just go out and just start driving around and we we take a look at the streets and how they or how they're orientated and where the where the problem areas were, where the restaurants were. That was like one of the big things. look Let's go check out where all the restaurants are. And in in that process, you're mapping that out in your brain. You're also kind of getting a feel for for the city, you know, the different routes, where the traffic is and this and that. And, you know, you spend the first week just kind of. doing that. you know aside from setting up the the apartment or whatever and all that we would actually go out and look at
00:16:51.75
Keith
You know, and I guess that in a way is sort of an area of study or, you know. ah an intelligence gathering mission.
00:16:59.84
Buddy
You know, what's cool about it is we we all have that that gut instinct. We all have that that primal brain. for survival. And. collecting intelligence You were doing it and you didn't even know it.
00:17:12.83
Buddy
It's something. We do every day.
00:17:13.96
Keith
Right.
00:17:15.73
Buddy
You're driving down the street.
00:17:16.84
Keith
Where's the post office? Where's the police station? Where's the hospital?
00:17:19.90
Buddy
Yes.
00:17:19.80
Keith
Where's the clinics? you know All that stuff.
00:17:21.90
Buddy
Area familiarization is is a big one. staying away from that side of town. Oh, I don't want to go to that side of town. or you're driving through a new part of town and you see some so things you don't like mental note i'm not going there Or I need to watch out when I come here, you know.
00:17:39.28
Keith
Right, right.
00:17:40.09
Buddy
you know, extra extra caution in this area. so that's the kind of things that would go into your area study and uh And. be part of your intelligence collecting so um You know, you're a lot of people are doing it without even knowing it. So I bet you once you.
00:17:58.70
Buddy
you listen to this podcast and if you, you know, if you. make it to the end then you're You're going to. Not only learn. a little bit hopefully But you're also going to realize that, hey, I do this you know naturally on my own.
00:18:13.59
Buddy
So...
00:18:14.06
Keith
Right. Mm hmm.
00:18:15.19
Buddy
And I want to say at this point. If this sounds like a cool topic to you, grab your notebook, hit pause, grab your notebook, get a pen, pencil, whatever, and i get that notebook out and start taking notes because there's going to be a lot of information coming out.
00:18:29.35
Buddy
In the next. ah you know 30 45 minutes so
00:18:33.47
Keith
Mm hmm. Okay, let's get into the, um I guess the definition. of Intelligence.
00:18:40.35
Buddy
Okay, so... First off, I want to talk about information. So there's there's a difference between information. and intelligence okay so Um,
00:18:51.73
Buddy
What? What is information? Well, and what's the difference between information and intelligence? so First off information is facts learned from something or someone. OK, it's the things out there.
00:19:05.77
Buddy
that um
00:19:09.24
Buddy
You know, you you didn't know and you figured you found out it might be something you knew but maybe forgot about So there are there's a lot of things that are facts.
00:19:20.86
Buddy
But they they mainly answer those questions, who, what, where, when. Um, And we want to get to the why. And that's where the information.
00:19:31.81
Buddy
part comes in, or the intelligence part. Comes in later. But so information is. Um, It's details. It's the details about things, it's the particulars, it's data that's out there, it's statistics.
00:19:48.49
Buddy
um It's all these things that. Um, is you know descript the descriptions of stuff it's factual there's a lot of different things um that information is. So information would be kind of like the input of what intelligence.
00:20:05.86
Buddy
is developed and i'll use that word term before all right again um you'll You'll take information and develop intelligence. So.
00:20:19.40
Buddy
Is that kind of...
00:20:19.60
Keith
Ah, yeah, yeah, I see what you're saying. so Okay, ah right so... that would That makes sense because you could go. Using my example from before, you can go out into your... brand new neighborhood or or maybe for the first time you're gonna actually go out and do a ah little recon of your own and you can go out and you can see what appears to you to be maybe a ah bad side of town like we just talked about.
00:20:44.31
Keith
But. That's... That's information. Intel might be. Is it really a bad part of town? is it Does it fluctuate? Is it you know bad during certain times? or Or maybe it's just not bad. That's just what you're you're getting. Maybe that's just your personal bias is telling you that.
00:21:00.54
Keith
So the intelligence part of it is breaking it all breaking all the information up into...
00:21:00.62
Buddy
Okay, so...
00:21:05.17
Keith
smart bits, I guess, right?
00:21:07.28
Buddy
Yeah, and it's a little more in. and a little bit more involved in that but i'll give you for instance here okay so the next time you go to walmart on your drive i want you to um Or...
00:21:19.64
Buddy
Another store, and a good 20 minute drive. Let's say that 10. to 20 minute. Take note of how many different license plates different states license plates you see remember the game i don't know if growing up did you ever play the game on a trip where you're you're looking at license plate for being you know growing up in new jersey you just here
00:21:36.83
Keith
Oh yeah yeah. Yeah all the time. And not not just growing up, but as an adult, it's a fun thing to do.
00:21:41.59
Buddy
Yeah. Yeah, yeah. So you're on a trip. You're you're looking at license. Place from other states. And so how many can I get? Well, try that going to your next trip, you know, your next trip to the grocery store or whatever. So.
00:21:55.06
Buddy
um Now that would be information. Wow. there's Just to my the other day, i it hit me like a ton of bricks and in the neighborhood I currently live in. Um, I saw just leaving.
00:22:07.55
Buddy
And it takes me, I don't know, six minutes to leave the the neighborhood. for my house. I drove the longer route this day. And it took me about... six to eight minutes.
00:22:19.65
Buddy
I saw three. Cars from California. uh Two from, or I won't say Chicago, but Illinois. There was a New Jersey and the other one was...
00:22:31.68
Buddy
I want to say New Mexico. Okay, so. It's not that big a deal. Where I live because it's I'm in a huge military town So you're going to see things, but.
00:22:45.04
Buddy
then intelligence that I've collected. On. the out of town you know, military type people. A lot of those are coming from, Oregon's a huge one because of the Air Force Base that's local.
00:22:59.75
Buddy
you'll You're going to get other. license plates, but a lot of people on their second. um tour i guess and and they get oregon license plates and stuff so i know that because of the data that i've saw you know why am i seeing all these organ plates well then I collected enough information and I started asking around.
00:23:20.31
Buddy
And I found out and I developed intelligence on, hey. This is why there's so many Oregon plates here. People from Oregon just don't want to leave and come to Oklahoma. I mean, Oregon's, you know what I'm saying?
00:23:31.52
Buddy
It's a better place than Oklahoma.
00:23:31.61
Keith
Right, right.
00:23:32.94
Buddy
You'd have to have a reason to come here. and you know a next duty station for the military would be one of those things So.
00:23:40.36
Keith
Hmm. Okay. That makes a lot of sense. Yeah.
00:23:42.51
Buddy
Okay. So... Basically, the information is raw. It's unorganized. uh or can be structured data. But it's it's kind of, you know, nothing that's...
00:23:55.25
Buddy
It's just out there. You're gaining it. in order to develop it into intelligence and so the next thing i'll talk about is intelligence so uh the intelligence is developed from information that it uh that is timely Relevant.
00:24:11.18
Buddy
It's accurate. It's specific. It can be actionable. and predictive. And it's all developed from information. or data.
00:24:23.08
Buddy
And so I hope that, you know, that makes sense. At first, I didn't get it because to me, information intelligence is the same thing because of my the way my brain works. But when you think of intelligence is developed from information.
00:24:37.19
Buddy
That's gathered Then it helps out a little bit
00:24:40.33
Keith
Well, i'm ah I'm a visual type of a learner. And when when you're speaking of this, what I'm seeing is. bullet points And information is like the headlines.
00:24:50.72
Keith
The bullet points under each one is your intelligence.
00:24:54.16
Buddy
Yeah, and... and
00:24:54.61
Keith
That's kind of how I'm picturing it. I don't know if that's correct, but it's it's a deeper version of what the... The knowledge is the the data. Yes, yes.
00:25:02.42
Buddy
So.
00:25:02.73
Keith
like that like That car is black, and that car is black. Now, under that, what type of black is it? Why did they buy black? why why are they Why do people like the color black? Is white black better than white? Blah, blah, blah.
00:25:13.28
Keith
It just seems like it's more in-depth.
00:25:15.79
Buddy
So...
00:25:15.98
Keith
Yeah. Yeah.
00:25:16.50
Buddy
you just said why several times okay and so the takeaway from this little lesson here is information as a who what where when and the why is developed from the information.
00:25:29.52
Keith
Ah. Okay.
00:25:30.36
Buddy
that makes intelligence.
00:25:30.43
Keith
That makes sense.
00:25:31.70
Buddy
Okay.
00:25:31.67
Keith
Yep.
00:25:32.59
Buddy
So I hope I broke that down enough to where that makes sense. so
00:25:37.95
Keith
Yeah.
00:25:38.10
Buddy
so
00:25:38.10
Keith
yeah
00:25:39.60
Buddy
any Any other questions from there?
00:25:41.77
Keith
Yeah, I want to know about all the ints.
00:25:43.82
Buddy
We're going to get there.
00:25:45.13
Keith
I want to learn the ints.
00:25:45.17
Buddy
We're definitely going to get there. so
00:25:47.70
Keith
everybody keep I keep hearing it on TV shows and movies and you guys, and I'm like, what what's all these ints? I-N-T.
00:25:53.84
Buddy
ah Yeah. And Jeremy, he he brought that term up a couple of times on different. podcast and he calls it the ends. And I, we're going to take that and we're going to run with it because. That's a cool term ah term that he came up with. so So.
00:26:07.75
Keith
Well, he he didn't come up with it, did he?
00:26:09.63
Buddy
ah You know, I don't know. I mean, he does come up with things.
00:26:11.38
Keith
Oh, oh you mean you mean you mean calling it the ints.
00:26:14.09
Buddy
Yeah, and he might have borrowed it from somebody, but you know what?
00:26:15.05
Keith
Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. But INT is just part of the acronym.
00:26:16.96
Buddy
that
00:26:19.07
Keith
is
00:26:19.39
Buddy
Yeah, yeah
00:26:19.100
Keith
Whatever. Yeah, okay.
00:26:21.26
Buddy
But that's cool. I mean, I... I'm going to take it, you know, and run with it. so
00:26:25.53
Keith
Yeah.
00:26:25.65
Buddy
um So we've talked about the why, and I don't want to beat a dead horse about the why, but. The why is. develops that ultimate goal remember i said i like winning i want to survive the why gives you The ultimate goal of survival.
00:26:42.22
Buddy
for prepper and homesteaders and urban you know all all the uh when i say preppers it it encompasses everybody listening If you're on a Prepper Survivals podcast, it's going to... It's going to actually hit home with you.
00:26:57.24
Buddy
Um, Another thing... That why another thing that. we would ah reason Another reason why. We would want to go out there and collect information. develop intelligence.
00:27:11.89
Buddy
is We don't know what we don't know. Okay. at There's things that I still don't know about my area. And I, you know, it's a constant, like I said, fluid document that I'm always improving that foxhole. I'm always making it things better in my area studies. evolving so There's something out there at the military and in the corporate world.
00:27:37.06
Buddy
They talk about intelligence gaps. And so what an intelligent gap is, is an intelligent gap is the unknown. What? is unknown out there.
00:27:48.71
Buddy
That I need to know. In order to come up with a better plan. for my survival. Okay. So. Intelligent gaps are.
00:27:59.56
Buddy
Mainly... from the military standpoint. uh they're they're given to you by you know your commander Or maybe there's a leader of a company who wants to know why.
00:28:13.50
Buddy
um his competitors just kicking their ass out there so He has a team of, you know, I need to know why we're getting our butts kicked and in sales this month. And so.
00:28:24.64
Buddy
You know, there's the people who go out there and find out the reasons why, you know, they're gaining data, they're collecting all these things, they're coming up with intelligence and they're going to brief back to that leader.
00:28:35.59
Buddy
and tell them, hey. This is why. and so then they can come up with a plan once they have the why they can come up with the plan on how to fix it and move on So.
00:28:46.32
Keith
Ooh, I'm going to make up a new term.
00:28:48.03
Buddy
Yeah.
00:28:49.23
Keith
Int gap.
00:28:50.33
Buddy
End cap. Ah. i'll see i'll try to I'll try to use that one.
00:28:56.06
Keith
It doesn't, it doesn't, it doesn't not flow off the, off the tongue, but I mean, it's better than saying gap int.
00:28:55.91
Buddy
throughout this.
00:28:59.07
Buddy
Yeah. Yeah.
00:29:01.69
Keith
I mean. Gapping your intelligence.
00:29:02.38
Buddy
Int gap, intelligence gap, yeah. So... There we go. So now we have end gaps.
00:29:09.99
Keith
See, I said I'm here first on the Toss Bunker Podcast.
00:29:14.08
Buddy
There you go. so in the military and in the corporate world there's what they call priority intelligence requirements okay these are given to people like when i was in reconnaissance i was given an intelligence requirement. in order to go out and collect intelligence.
00:29:30.51
Buddy
or information on certain things So that the commander could come up with. a battle plan. He wanted to know certain things. He wanted to, let's say for instance, he wanted to know how many troops are out there.
00:29:43.96
Buddy
what kind of equipment they have are they what kind of rifles do they have uh you know nato rifles or do they have uh you know soviet block you know klishnikov type rifles you know are they eating good are they fat soldiers are they skinny soldiers what type of vehicles are driving do they have good tread on the tires um things of that nature we did stuff like in reconnaissance we did what they call route reconnaissance so the We'd get a ah mission.
00:30:12.14
Buddy
to go out and Go from point A on a road to point B. and we there were certain requirements that were out there we had to identify what they call choke points ambush points.
00:30:24.59
Buddy
go over bridges and and look underneath and see Can this bridge support a tank or it will it only support, you know, maybe a Humvee or will it only support a donkey cart?
00:30:36.05
Buddy
you know these are kind of things that you need to know before The commander needs to know. before they start rolling out the you know the the heavy you know artillery and stuff so that That was ah what they call a PIR, Priority Intelligence Requirements, and it's used in the civilian world as you know, for...
00:30:57.12
Buddy
for different corporations and stuff.
00:30:57.42
Keith
Like in in business.
00:30:58.48
Buddy
Yeah. So. you're You have a mag. Let's say, for instance, you have a mag and and you're part of the planning cell there. You're in charge of, you know, you're the...
00:31:09.94
Buddy
the intelligence cell or your the intelligence. officer there for your your mutual assistance group so you would come up with uh a PIR, a primary intelligence requirement.
00:31:23.53
Buddy
for people to go out and find things out so you would know. what's going on. uh in your for your mag and say for instance uh We have um a local mag in the in the neighborhood, let's say.
00:31:37.00
Buddy
And. It's getting into the political season and it's time to. Start voting. So. One of the requirements might be for you to go out.
00:31:50.35
Buddy
And, you know, the the the officer says, hey. I need you guys to go out and find out how many Republicans we got out there, how many Democrats. we got out there so How do you gain that?
00:32:03.93
Buddy
you know gain that information gain that you know to develop the intelligence so you know what's a way of doing that well You might look at political signs that are out there. you know you see a political sign vote for you know Mr. Smith, whoa.
00:32:18.90
Buddy
is mr smith a democrat or republican because a lot of times they don't put that on their signs they just put their name on there and and make it catchy as ever so they got that name recognition and stuff like that uh is there trump flags flying in your area. Is there, you know, fuck Trump.
00:32:35.30
Buddy
flags out there. know Is there you know communist flags? you know what's What's out there? is Is there a lot of don't tread on me flags in your area? Because that that kind of tells you the politics of people as well. so Um,
00:32:49.12
Keith
So in intelligence gathering or information gathering, Um, Are you... talking to people as well.
00:32:57.18
Buddy
Well, we'll get into that here in a minute. with It's part of the ints that we'll talk about here in a second.
00:33:01.53
Keith
Well, the reason why I ask is because in a real world, uh Area of operations or a combat zone or whatever you guys call it live fire or something, whatever.
00:33:11.94
Keith
um You're doing recon, but you're not engaging. Right. You're. going in and and you're getting as much information you get and you're getting back without engaging. That's the that's the primary goal, right?
00:33:23.39
Buddy
Yeah, and we used to have in the reconnaissance world, we had this little saying, run away, run away, live to fight another day.
00:33:29.65
Keith
Oh, yeah, I've heard that.
00:33:29.72
Buddy
you know
00:33:30.52
Keith
Sure.
00:33:30.64
Buddy
we're We're lovers, not fighters here in recon, you know.
00:33:33.80
Keith
Okay, good. So in the prepper survivalist world or or whatever, our world. Then there would have to be a way to do that, too, without. being getting yourself known as a prepper survivalist, as somebody who's trying to collect information.
00:33:47.87
Buddy
Yeah, and... We'll get into that here in a second of different techniques of gaining that information with the, with the ends. I know you're itching to get to the ends. We're almost there.
00:33:57.68
Keith
It's, it's.
00:33:59.29
Buddy
So... ah Having said ah all this about...
00:34:02.65
Keith
ah That's a T-shirt.
00:34:03.81
Buddy
Yes, it's...
00:34:04.59
Keith
H for the ints.
00:34:05.74
Buddy
There we go.
00:34:07.14
Keith
Itchint.
00:34:07.14
Buddy
Um, Itching. I'm itching for the ants. so the So now that we we've... identify and beat the dead horse on the difference between in intelligence and
00:34:16.96
Keith
You have beat it to to the pulp.
00:34:19.15
Buddy
Yes. and information. um All of that is. To be. developed into a plan. And we'll, you know, like I said before, we want we're winners. We want to win. So.
00:34:31.72
Buddy
Now, we're we're almost to the end. We're almost there.
00:34:34.10
Keith
Please, sir, stop winning so much. I can't do the voice, sorry.
00:34:38.01
Buddy
ah Yeah, I like winning.
00:34:39.08
Keith
we're winning We're winning too much.
00:34:41.52
Buddy
I went all the time. So... We're going to talk next about.
00:34:51.10
Buddy
about the scale. okay there's there's what we call intelligence scale. So... The intelligence scale is... Everything in our world down to... you know, our neighborhood. So.
00:35:06.67
Buddy
We want to collect things and we want to pay attention to things on the world scale, the global scale. you know you you when you you watch the news at night you know you watch the nightly news you know for the larger networks to get that. you know hopefully you get a a snapshot from the world and uh you know the nation maybe even they'll do some state stuff but you're not gonna get that local thing So.
00:35:32.93
Buddy
the things the scale of intelligence you know the world scale is is something you need to pay attention to especially as a prepper survivalist because um
00:35:32.91
Keith
True. Yeah.
00:35:41.83
Buddy
you know there's the war drums being uh you know, beat to death now with and lately. what's been in the you know the the news cycle is you know korea's got 39 nukes are I don't know how many they've got. They've got a bunch of nukes that they've come out and said, hey, we got this many.
00:36:00.59
Buddy
Um, Do they really? Or is it, you know? chest beating. You know, we don't want
00:36:05.98
Keith
It's definitely chess beating, but I i digress.
00:36:09.49
Buddy
But I keep hearing nuclear about it. We're gonna nuke Iran All right. Ukraine's going to get nuked. use tactical nukes, are going to get tactically nuked by Russia. The NATO is going to be involved. and and it's just this you know,
00:36:25.55
Buddy
national nuke thing, well, that's the problem. you know, the in the in the world scale. but Those are the kinds of things you need to pay attention to because what happens a lot of times overseas eventually comes back here.
00:36:38.35
Buddy
And just because I've been a collector for years. I. will pay attention to europe a lot especially the western world europe Because what happens in Europe... eventually starts to trickle back.
00:36:51.25
Buddy
to the united states and then on the national scale, and then it starts to trickle in locally. And so. On that scale, there's the national scale. You got the world scale, the national scale, regional.
00:37:06.91
Buddy
So, you know, national is your nation. Basically, is you know it's talking about politics. disasters maybe um you know, things that are happening on the national scale, you know, the ice raids.
00:37:19.44
Buddy
Used to be the... the um All the people coming across the. you know, the wall, you know, that are coming in free to the nation, all the the migrants or whatever you want to call them.
00:37:30.04
Keith
o
00:37:31.28
Buddy
So that was a national.
00:37:32.31
Keith
And regional would be like, you know, the Midwest or the South or Southeast.
00:37:35.33
Buddy
Yeah. And when i when I see regional, which is the next one, you got world, national, and regional. The regional is, I like to think FEMA region. And there's different FEMA regions, and the FEMA region I'm in, I'm in Region 6, so I pay attention a lot to ah Region 6 because...
00:37:53.09
Buddy
That's going to affect me more. Because of. the fema region and the laws and and the responsibilities in this region than what ah the next region would have or the national.
00:38:07.83
Buddy
you know, reaction to something. so ill I'll pay attention to the, and basically my FEMA region is the surrounding states. So I'm really paying attention. what goes on in Texas.
00:38:19.93
Buddy
Because it's close. And I know what happens in Texas usually filters into Oklahoma. we We might as well be. texas ourselves it's northern texas or something you know
00:38:28.55
Keith
True yep.
00:38:29.76
Buddy
So you need to pay attention to what's going on around you regionally. uh at least pay attention you know pay attention
00:38:34.70
Keith
Damn that Red River.
00:38:36.27
Buddy
yeah that red river you know and you know the cool thing about it is it keeps It keeps taking more Texas soil every year.
00:38:44.04
Keith
I'll tell you one thing. i'm I mean, off subject, but the Red River, it's freaking red. I've crossed it so many times, and so does Rhonda. Every time she goes to Texas, she's in Texas right now. and it That is some of the reddest damn clay I've ever seen.
00:38:56.94
Buddy
I, you know, I grew up in this red land and always wondered about it. And the other, it was two nights ago. I stayed up, couldn't sleep. And I started watching something and it just. it it Ended up on my YouTube algorithm about why Oklahoma. the earth is so red and it's all mineral deposits you know what i mean old it's mineral projects from old old
00:39:16.90
Keith
That's cool. Yeah.
00:39:20.74
Buddy
mountains The oldest mountains in the United States come from Oklahoma. I digress. We're going down a rabbit hole. but
00:39:26.01
Keith
ah yeah we are
00:39:26.81
Buddy
Now, you know, right? And I do have a a family. Family member that owns a ranch down. on the Oklahoma side and some of the Texas side now.
00:39:37.73
Buddy
uh on the Red River and It... Their boundary always changes. It's continuously going south. So, you know, maybe in the next thousand years, we'll own all all the way down to like maybe Denton or something. I don't know.
00:39:53.01
Buddy
So.
00:39:53.42
Keith
ah
00:39:54.08
Buddy
I digress.
00:39:54.42
Keith
Yeah.
00:39:55.24
Buddy
so All right, after regional, we have state. so Why do you want to pay attention to the state? ah You know, what's going on in the state and gather intelligence from state? is you know Mainly politics.
00:40:06.28
Buddy
Because the politics is what... mainly affects you. directly. you know What are the first order of facts? And when you're thinking about all these, the scale of intelligence.
00:40:16.69
Buddy
you're thinking about the first order of effects second order of effects
00:40:19.71
Keith
Scaloent.
00:40:22.04
Buddy
yeah you're thinking of you know it might the world might be a fourth or fifth order of effect but it still affects you in some way. a world drought, you know global warming.
00:40:32.83
Buddy
I can throw out all these buzzwords and stuff. But things. It. As we go down this scale. it affects you more and more and more. and so think about that onion being you know there's different layers of an onion Think about the onion getting peeled back on each one of these. So we've talked about world, national, regional, state.
00:40:54.39
Buddy
Okay, whether in your state. and the politics in your state. uh laws um you know Those are the kind of things that really affect you.
00:41:05.58
Buddy
So.
00:41:05.92
Keith
Gun laws.
00:41:07.09
Buddy
Gun laws, you know. Isn't it
00:41:10.91
Keith
And regional as well, because if you're if you're a gun owner and carrier, you need to know what the surrounding states are allowed to do.
00:41:14.47
Buddy
Yes. and and I was about to get there. Thank you. but um That with your. conceal and carry, you know, the regional areas and stuff, you know, as you travel through states, you need to know these things. And and that's good intelligence to gather information to gain the intelligence.
00:41:32.13
Buddy
so So after the state, we have the county, which is politics, whether crime in your county. um you know, what is going on in my county, the policies in my county. so you know.
00:41:45.44
Buddy
What? The state. level ah policies and and laws. Could be... this but a county can affect you a lot more.
00:41:58.57
Buddy
but for instance um in my county um
00:42:05.18
Buddy
The roads. um I'm not even going to go there on this one for the county, but I'll do more of a city and you'll you can see more of. which is next from county is the city.
00:42:17.70
Buddy
you'll get in more of a change, you know, the with the county and city. You've got politics, weather and crime. That. you need to really pay attention to. but your city is your local area there. And like you said, A minute ago, the AO, the area of operation, that's more of your area of operation because you do go outside.
00:42:39.68
Buddy
of your neighborhood. hopefully you go and maybe go to other stores in your city. You might even go to the other side of the city or another county to go shopping. So, you know, these are things you need to pay attention to and know the crime.
00:42:51.77
Keith
Yeah, i belong to ah I belong to chat groups ah on Facebook for my county and my city.
00:42:57.12
Buddy
Yeah.
00:42:57.29
Keith
and And, you know. Like, we just learned about the... the the concert that that's coming in town actually It's coming in town as we... so As we speak right now, it's happening.
00:43:09.27
Keith
ah ah but when this podcast comes out it will have already happened but it's the uh juggalos it's the insane clown posse's um you know juggalos that's their that's their followers it's called they're called juggalos and and they're they're coming into our
00:43:19.63
Buddy
ah Yeah, yeah.
00:43:24.73
Keith
They're doing a big festival here and, you know, people are just up in arms and they got a whole bunch of Karens on the, you know, the Facebook pages going, you know, we don't need their, their crap here and this and that. And there's, there's going to be pedophiles and this and that.
00:43:38.44
Keith
they're just Dude, it's a festival.
00:43:40.73
Buddy
Yeah, but they're, I mean. I was.
00:43:42.36
Keith
they're they're They're tough. I get it, man.
00:43:43.74
Buddy
I followed him. and there's a lot of darkness that goes with them and there's a lot of violence
00:43:47.96
Keith
There is. Drugs.
00:43:50.65
Buddy
A lot of drugs. I mean, these are your wayward kids.
00:43:52.19
Keith
Yep.
00:43:54.61
Buddy
They're out having fun, but their fun might affect you. You know what I mean?
00:43:59.41
Keith
It might affect you, and it definitely affects our area because of traveling, you know, like just trying to get from one place to another, the traffic, the restaurants, everything is is packed. I mean, it is packed right now. and This is not. the kind of place you would think. Where I live is not the kind of place you'd think would be packed.
00:44:16.58
Keith
for anything. I mean, we're in the middle of freaking nowhere. You know, and they and this is where they come each year. This is like their 20th annual whatever.
00:44:24.26
Buddy
Yeah.
00:44:24.54
Keith
um I did get a report this morning. The cops said that everything went off very, very peacefully. There was a couple of arrests for drugs, but there was no violence, no fighting. there was not even Not even tickets given out for stuff.
00:44:37.80
Keith
So it's very peaceful.
00:44:39.05
Buddy
Well, the good news is a lot of their fans are my age because I used to.
00:44:42.69
Keith
Again, older.
00:44:43.54
Buddy
i i was a big fan of them for a while when in my 20s you know what i mean uh
00:44:48.19
Keith
Right.
00:44:49.03
Buddy
So, yeah, they're older and maybe 10 o 'clock is their bedtime now. So maybe not as crazy as they used to be.
00:44:54.74
Keith
Yeah.
00:44:55.54
Buddy
But, you know, one of the things that I pay attention to in my county is the. AI data centers. Um, the the county you know gop There and.
00:45:08.47
Buddy
the the county Democrats are all teaming up to, you know. Stop these or get a moratorium on the data centers
00:45:16.18
Keith
Yeah, our county just just passed moratorium just a couple of days ago. Like two, three days ago, it came out that they passed it. In other words, they're stopping it. They want more information about what these.
00:45:27.42
Keith
data centers are going to be you know what type of impact it's going to have for our county before they're saying they're going to allow it so it's right now it's stopped there's a there's a wall that was put up and It's not going anywhere until until it gets voted on.
00:45:40.96
Buddy
Yeah. and County is kind of one of those ones you you want to keep your eye on. There's not a lot to collect there. but just keep your eye on it city is more you know In your your area of operation, as they call it, you know, you're. you're the places you go the most and and affects you the most so there's you know city uh There's...
00:46:04.76
Buddy
their city laws, their city. ordinance there's different things that affect you you know, your day-to-day lives for instance I decide I need to build on build a, let's call it a little barn behind my house so I can store all my prepper shit, right?
00:46:21.99
Buddy
Well... The city i that I used to be in. They wouldn't allow certain things. They were really tough on stuff. And a lot of their laws were really old and outdated. So, ah you know.
00:46:34.31
Buddy
Um, They just had some silly shit that they needed to update, but they still stuck to it, you know. and they would just stick to it then hold and right to their guns so you couldn't uh do certain things in that city.
00:46:48.78
Buddy
that would better people's lives. So, you know, so a lot of city things, you know, then again, you got the politics, you got weather, you got crime. Um, that will affect your everyday life.
00:47:02.11
Buddy
And. it's I had something there.
00:47:05.61
Keith
Well, that's one of the reasons why we did why we moved to this area of Missouri, the Ozarks. Because they're in our. our sphere, which, which, you know, can go and an hour or so in any direction and all the way down into like Arkansas, there is very little control over.
00:47:23.86
Keith
Property owners. You can do anything you want. basically anything you want across the board without any permission at all with the own acreage like we do that's one of the reasons why i went for it because there there are places In Texas.
00:47:37.07
Keith
That. Won't let you have. you know, ah rain catchment. systems or you know different types of things. and and And not only that, but some people live where they've got homeowners associations. That is, oh, you don't want to do that.
00:47:51.29
Keith
at all.
00:47:51.40
Buddy
Well... And like I was talking about the silly shit in cities. you can only have Two hens. And no. um Roosters.
00:48:01.94
Buddy
in the city until they passed the law. you know they they petitioned you know the citizens petitioned and uh during covid to get, you know. to get more chickens out there. And they had laws that say inside the city limits, you couldn't have, so you can only only have X amount of certain animals. You can only have so many sheep, so many goats, so many horses, so many cows.
00:48:24.98
Buddy
um We happen to have some of the really the ro- the what's left over of the city. uh the city limits we have the raw land still in the city limits we're holding on to it and it just keeps the number keeps growing every day the the value of it it's it's pretty awesome one day i'll be sitting on a million dollars hopefully
00:48:45.42
Keith
Yeah, that's good. Yeah.
00:48:46.71
Buddy
But. um We're running livestock on it. And, you know, there's. there's just some silly laws out there that you know we petition to get it changed so but you know Then again, your county, you can do certain things. Your county assessors come out and tax the shit out of you. And and then the city's got to get their, you know.
00:49:06.92
Buddy
Um, with their little You know. stick their fork in you too but the one that most mostly affects your everyday life city is not always you don't always go to the city or you might not be in the city every day you might live in city limits you might not everybody uh i can't say everybody lives in city limits but you know i have my last you know pretty much my whole life So it affects me.
00:49:32.39
Keith
Yeah, same here until now. yeah
00:49:33.92
Buddy
Yeah, it affects me every day.
00:49:35.80
Keith
Oh yeah.
00:49:36.72
Buddy
But the neighborhood. is another big one. This is the the final scale. It's the very bottom scale. um that affects your everyday life every minute of your life that you're not That you're in that neighborhood, you know, you got HOAs, you got the politics, you got weather, you got crime, you got.
00:49:55.26
Keith
You got Karen's.
00:49:55.85
Buddy
Karen's. Fuck yeah. Karen's.
00:49:58.71
Keith
ah
00:49:59.72
Buddy
You know... yeah There's always that one Karen that's a HOA president that. you know, has nothing else to do. She's, you know, 65 years old, retired. And she, her whole life is about writing you nasty letters, you know.
00:50:12.65
Buddy
Um,
00:50:13.13
Keith
Nothing else better to do.
00:50:13.54
Buddy
strictly What do they call that? ah sternly written worded letters, you know. so The scale is something you pay attention to when you're collecting. uh it was kind of a long drawn out way of of of going about hey You need to pay attention to what's going on in the world, what's going on in your nation.
00:50:37.75
Buddy
regionally what's going on. a state or province your county or parish your local city your municipality and your actual neighborhood.
00:50:49.37
Buddy
Because those things. As we talk about the orders of effect, they're going to. you know as you go down and peel back the onion it's going to affect you more and more and more every time
00:51:00.47
Keith
Yeah, Rhonda and I were coming back from doing some shopping. or doing a run and coming down the the gravel road and there's a house that we pass by it's a ranch and um They got a lot of property and he was outside. He was standing up. So we pulled over and we you know and talked to him and he told us, you know. everything I mean, he went on. We got so much information on this guy, all the different neighbors, all the things that are happening. All the different stuff. He's a talker and a real nice guy.
00:51:26.46
Keith
and uh great information well i went home and actually looked him up and his like family owned all the mountains around here at one point. Like, I mean, they've been here for, they're generational, you know, they've been here forever. So I'm pretty sure his Intel was, was very good.
00:51:41.29
Buddy
Well... What an awesome segue into the ends. you know, the, what'd you call it a minute ago? The, uh,
00:51:48.52
Keith
The ints. the what What ends? Itchins.
00:51:52.07
Buddy
Itchins, yeah. So yeah you're itching.
00:51:53.12
Keith
Okay. it Well, you know, it only took you 52 minutes to get there. Come on.
00:51:56.65
Buddy
Hey.
00:51:57.69
Keith
ah
00:51:57.44
Buddy
We're here now. Best for last, right? and I'm going to try to make it abbreviated. so we If anybody's still listening, because here we go. So what you just talked about is what's called human.
00:52:09.93
Buddy
It's human intelligence. collecting. Okay, and the the key aspect for human intelligence collecting... the human is you find out the why.
00:52:21.17
Buddy
And the who. Okay, so keeping that in mind. so what you did is by doing a little interview or just asking an open-ended question to somebody um they gave you all this information you will find out in the human collection um efforts.
00:52:39.69
Buddy
A lot of times you just got to go knock on a door to your neighbor and say, hi, introduce yourself. Hey, I live next door. My name is Jim. Um, Lived here a couple years. Just wanted to come by and introduce myself.
00:52:52.38
Buddy
And then. they feel obligated to tell you something about them. And then you can ask them, oh, cool. I noticed that you drive a... Looks like a shop truck. What do you do for a living? Oh, you're a plumber. Awesome. so you know i if i could have a car to yours then i could call you if i had a problem OK, well, by the way, do you do you have guns? Do you shoot? OK, well, great. I do, too. I'm you know, I was in the army.
00:53:19.08
Buddy
um So now you can start developing. Friendships. That network that we've talked about and other people's talked about, like Project 223. uh when he was on uh joe doleo talked about it and bears talked about you know developing that network of people your neighbors And you might have an ally.
00:53:40.53
Buddy
Or you might piss the guy off and... and you know they have different maybe different political um you know. ideologies or whatever
00:53:50.50
Keith
Yeah, but that in itself is also important information because then you know how to deal with that person without upsetting them or you know putting them off.
00:53:57.96
Buddy
bingo you know who's who's in your court who's out of your court so um and who's going to be helpful in a Shit hits a fan situation. Who's not? So.
00:54:09.92
Buddy
Um, These are... You were you have. You've been doing a lot of collection without even knowing it. uh And you mentioned that you you went home and and kind of researched this guy.
00:54:25.79
Buddy
And what did you do with it from there?
00:54:29.08
Keith
Oh, I just kept it in my brain. I didn't like write it down or anything, but now I know. um his His last name. and you know all you know i went on there and looked up the different properties zones and the plot lines Found out exactly which ones he owns. and and And doing that, I also found out.
00:54:45.75
Keith
That there is there's a creek and with his name. And then I was like, oh, wow. So I actually looked up the name, you know, in the history of the of the area. And at one point they like founded the whole area.
00:54:55.33
Buddy
So, yeah, you you've collected a lot, and that guy is probably what they would call a... you know a very important person. you know he could be put in that category of you know he's a very influential
00:55:08.01
Keith
Yeah, yeah
00:55:09.72
Buddy
Okay, so that's a guy that would be. good to have on your on your side. He can also be a great source for you. A lot of times in the police, they call them CIs, confidential informant.
00:55:20.86
Buddy
So you might want to know about a neighbor that's you know on the other direction. and this guy's been around for a while now you've got a source to maybe go get some you know new intel on this other person
00:55:31.88
Keith
Yeah, and we also exchanged, you know, phone numbers and and the old, you know, come over anytime you want, open invitation kind of a thing. so And he's actually even ah called me a couple times about... Cattle that has gotten out.
00:55:42.93
Buddy
Yeah.
00:55:42.97
Keith
you know.
00:55:44.55
Buddy
So... Just, you know how...
00:55:46.91
Keith
i did I did a little, ah you know, I was. working just a couple weeks ago outside and I heard an unusual noise for our area which was like a bunch of big engine trucks and and things coming through and i'm like what the hell is going on And.
00:56:01.87
Keith
i went And you know I heard it pretty much most of the day. I'm like, man, something weird going on out there. So I went up and and grabbed my drone, took my drone up in the air, went out and checked it out. And it was actually people doing road work.
00:56:13.52
Keith
on, you know, on our dirt road. Where we're at, you go from paved roads. to gravel roads. And then to where we live, dirt roads. And. I've never seen them work on the dirt roads. Now, on the on the gravel roads, they work on them all the time. They kind of they kind of rotate through the throughout the year.
00:56:31.29
Keith
But for the dirt roads, they only come out once a year. And. That was intelligence now that I have. Now I know that they work on the dirt roads once every year.
00:56:40.73
Buddy
That's great information to know. Yeah. That is awesome because now you when you start putting together your area intelligence study. You know, when they. maintain the roads.
00:56:52.04
Keith
Yep.
00:56:52.79
Buddy
And then, you know, you can you can develop your plan from there. I'm going to touch a little. A few more things on Heumann. Basically, hum is is there's different techniques of of gathering humid. uh You can use interrogations. You can ask open ended questions. You can be just a friendly conversation.
00:57:12.57
Buddy
uh you can debrief You can. do what they call source operations. Even. be covert and infiltrate. I've actually done that with some political organizations to where I've gotten very valuable intelligence.
00:57:28.76
Buddy
That I've passed on to. the decision makers and the people who act upon this intelligence and i'll just leave it at that to where they could you know, do what they wanted to with that information. and uh they did do some things so There you go. so i got a win for me so um
00:57:47.99
Keith
ah
00:57:49.17
Buddy
So. for Also, the your the strategic value of gain in human is it bridges that gap between. What's observable? and the reasoning behind it. So you you've got the context for the why.
00:58:03.79
Buddy
And who. is responsible for it. Hopefully, that's you know that would be one of your goals. so Um, These are human is probably the second It's probably the most reliable for the most part. And when you get down that rabbit hole with human, you got your, I call them CIs, confidential informants. they These people have grades. so What would you grade your guy?
00:58:31.42
Buddy
that you got the intelligence from.
00:58:34.11
Keith
Right, right. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would say he's he's probably at least a 9 or a 10. And I know other people in the area that are 9 and 10s. And I also know the people in the area that are.
00:58:44.71
Keith
one and twos.
00:58:45.75
Buddy
Yeah. So. you want to You want to develop a system. You know, a lot of times the military uses... or at least the units i was involved in either a letter grade They would actually, one of the units would use a 1 through 5 and a letter.
00:59:02.48
Buddy
And so. If he was a five, you know, alpha then. Gold. if he was a you know a three alpha eh he's missed a few things or you know maybe you know he really didn't really know what he was talking about kind of thing you know you know one you know bravo he's he's a liar you know he's probably working for the team so you know there's just different ways but come up with your own system with that to where you can.
00:59:30.64
Buddy
use that information and give you and then grade them. And you go back, if you take notes on it. Go back to them and you can. Keep. gaining information.
00:59:41.77
Buddy
And you keep grading it to see, you know, this guy's got a great track record. you know and just keep scoring people. All right, so we beat that dead horse. so I would say that's probably my second. Human's probably the second of my favorite. Oh.
00:59:56.68
Buddy
collections It's probably the most reliable. for the most part. But the one that everybody uses that's the easiest to gain would be what they call. oset It's open source intelligence.
01:00:10.68
Buddy
So what is OSA?
01:00:12.47
Keith
Okay.
01:00:13.15
Buddy
so
01:00:13.60
Keith
ah Like social media.
01:00:15.14
Buddy
Social media, it's data that's provided publicly and commercially available out there. So anything on the Internet.
01:00:20.84
Keith
Highly opinionated.
01:00:23.14
Buddy
anything on the internet. Uh, is OSINT. And it's illegal. one of the things about osun is it's got you know they it for the most part it's got to be legal now there's slander stuff out there but Um,
01:00:37.74
Buddy
You need to kind of start vetting. When you're graing grabbing open open source intelligence, you need to vet. those sources. And. I use a source.
01:00:46.79
Keith
I'll give you, for instance, just this morning, I saw a Facebook ah post ah that came up.
01:00:48.07
Buddy
Okay.
01:00:51.62
Keith
or Maybe it was one of the other. I don't i remember which one it was on, but it was a local Fox. place out in california and it was showing their They're. um representative hall you know where they do all the voting and stuff like that and and and all that and they um The representatives were up there and the camera was way back.
01:01:10.61
Keith
And there was a There was somebody proposing to put in. ah laws or or something. Get this. to allow ah To build, I'm sorry, to build.
01:01:24.07
Keith
Sexual relief.
01:01:26.46
Buddy
Yeah.
01:01:26.54
Keith
Areas. for homeless people. In other words,
01:01:29.66
Buddy
Yeah.
01:01:31.67
Keith
Do your thing. Go in there and do your thing. sexual relief areas.
01:01:34.42
Buddy
aye I saw that same.
01:01:37.75
Keith
Then I looked into it even a little deeper. And the video made made it look like it was one of the representatives, the city officials, but proposing it. But it wasn't. It was actually somebody in the audience proposing it to the city officials, and they turned it down.
01:01:53.92
Keith
But the video made it look like, you look what's look what's going on. They're going to actually make these things. can you kim Is this real? when we what What world are we living in here? But in actuality, it wasn't. It was the opposite. it was It was somebody from the somebody from the public proposing it to the representatives. I would not have known that if I didn't do what you said and vet it. I had to vet it because that's a big thing, man.
01:02:16.62
Buddy
Well, with the AI stuff out there, and we're going to have episode an episode on that coming up.
01:02:21.68
Keith
Yep.
01:02:22.73
Buddy
Stay tuned. um With the AI stuff out there and AI is getting better and better every day. Vetting is very important. And.
01:02:33.65
Buddy
You can take somebody's hour-long speech. Somebody could take this whole hour-long thing and totally snip it up to where it makes me.
01:02:40.60
Keith
Oh yeah.
01:02:41.64
Buddy
look like a champ or look like a chump, you know.
01:02:44.66
Keith
Yep.
01:02:45.43
Buddy
um So it can be. You can make whatever you want to out of it. so And it looks like they did that. so it's it's Very important, especially when you're collecting only on OSINT.
01:02:59.36
Buddy
is to... Vet. the source. And look at all sides of that. topic so if they're talking about uh you know that situation for the the jack shack you know lack of better terms.
01:03:12.80
Keith
Uh huh.
01:03:14.15
Buddy
So.
01:03:14.96
Keith
The judge.
01:03:16.55
Buddy
We'll call it the San Francisco Jack Shack.
01:03:17.86
Keith
Ugh.
01:03:18.88
Buddy
I don't even, I thought it was California.
01:03:20.21
Keith
sexual Sexual relief zone.
01:03:22.70
Buddy
Yeah, I'm calling it the Jack Shack.
01:03:24.42
Keith
Jack, Jack.
01:03:24.42
Buddy
so So now. you You have, find many sources. And I'm i'm sure you didn't just read one. You saw something. You're like, what? Wait a minute.
01:03:34.81
Buddy
I'm going to see what else I can find.
01:03:35.22
Keith
Yeah, I was like, I i have i want i want to.
01:03:38.06
Keith
talk about this. So I said, before I talk about it, I need to know what's going on. So I just, the very first thing I did, I just Google AI'd it. and yeah I pressed the record button and I just asked, Hey, you know, did this really happen? And blah blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And it said, no, this is actually misinformation. If you look closely, it's somebody from the audience in the video. And, and I was like, Oh, so I went back to the video and looked at it because the camera so far back, you think it's one of the representatives saying it, but it's not, there's somebody way off to the side.
01:04:07.13
Keith
at a podium asking it.
01:04:09.13
Buddy
Yeah, and i I saw the same thing and and come to the conclusion. Because I was. Passively listening to it. It caught my attention. I looked up and I was like
01:04:17.30
Keith
Right. Like, what?
01:04:18.35
Buddy
it's It's California or somewhere on the West Coast. Okay, I believe it because they do that kind of stupid shit. You know what I mean? that that's what i
01:04:25.56
Keith
Well, and it's not it's not saying that some... politician wouldn't actually agree with it and go with it, but they didn't on this one.
01:04:30.45
Buddy
Yeah. yeah and so but that's that that's a perfect example of why you need to vet your sources and One of the sources I use and I found that I like and I use it.
01:04:42.86
Buddy
every day now it's one of my go-to's it's called ground news okay so grip
01:04:47.70
Keith
Is it an app?
01:04:48.90
Buddy
Ground News is an app. Um,
01:04:51.08
Keith
Okay.
01:04:51.96
Buddy
You can get it emailed to you if you're not, you know, you don't want a lot of shit on your phone. but you Every day I get an email and I have the app where it sends me an update every day of what's going on. Twice a day I get updates of the latest news.
01:05:05.80
Keith
Can you cherry pick or set up a certain way of doing it?
01:05:05.85
Buddy
Now.
01:05:08.51
Keith
like so you know
01:05:08.53
Buddy
Yes, you can set it up. and
01:05:10.09
Keith
Okay.
01:05:11.05
Buddy
I've got other news. I've got a whole other presentation. or show on. the sources I use. And it's going to be another. you know our
01:05:22.10
Keith
Yeah.
01:05:22.14
Buddy
long you know.
01:05:23.11
Keith
we We want to do that one because that's.
01:05:24.89
Buddy
Yeah.
01:05:25.69
Keith
you know we People that listen to this show, they want the how-tos. They want to know how to do the shit.
01:05:32.37
Buddy
Yeah, so if you're into that kind of thing and you want to know how to set up your own little intelligence collection, I'm telling you why you need to do it. And some of the background stuff. Next one will be how.
01:05:43.38
Buddy
So, but Ground News is a great. And there's a paid there's a free and a paid. so Take that for what it's worth. but you can set it up to gather and i have mine set up for world.
01:05:57.49
Buddy
National. and state news. And I think that's all I can do on this app. i got another app that i can get local stuff that i get all day long i get local stuff yet so
01:06:06.56
Keith
Wow. Yeah.
01:06:09.81
Buddy
And I get breaking news flashes so on the other one, so the local stuff.
01:06:14.34
Keith
I tried doing some of that ah Intel work with my. uh my bow fang radio because i have one set up in my shop as well way out back and i i turned it on and just kind of let it go through scanning but it's so i'm so far out it's not picking up anything i get nobody on it maybe if i went you know more closer to a town or something i might be able to hear something
01:06:28.50
Buddy
Yeah.
01:06:33.31
Buddy
Well, we get Jake back on He can run us through how to set this up. And it's one of those show me. tell me thing so my that might be a good video but uh love to have jake back on and and he's got some sources that they do this kind of thing
01:06:50.03
Keith
Well, I want to start putting videos some videos to some of these shows that we do so we can get them on the deal.
01:06:50.06
Buddy
They do digital radio.
01:06:55.43
Keith
So that might be a good one where we actually you know do it on in a video format.
01:06:58.56
Buddy
Yeah. Yeah, definitely. so Going back to OSINT. because we're running out we're getting low on time here um You can tailor that knowledge.
01:07:09.70
Buddy
like I was talking about with Ground News. And the cool thing about Ground News is it tells you. where that source comes from. So is it left-leaning? Is it right-leaning? And it gives you a percentage of each. So it takes all the stories that's out there AI-wise. It's AI. And they take...
01:07:28.86
Buddy
That one Jack Shack story. And. They show it if it's right leaning or left leaning. with all the reporting on it so if it's 98 right leaning then you know it's pretty much a hit piece going on So it vets, it tells you right, left, and center.
01:07:48.96
Buddy
Of what the sources are, you know, I saw somebody that died the other day on it and I was like, oh, you know, I like that person. Well. The centrist, it was like. you know over 80 percent center and then there was a few left and a few right uh leaning sources on it but for the most part They do the vetting for you.
01:08:09.01
Buddy
So a lot of that bullshit is left out. So it's a pretty good source. I like it.
01:08:13.32
Keith
Yeah, because... You will definitely see differences. Who's the guy that went to... ah uh went into dearborn the The the guy from...
01:08:20.76
Buddy
Jake Lang.
01:08:21.81
Keith
Okay, so Jake Lane. there if you will If you look at the news today. You got some channels are saying agitators went in there and some channels saying Patriot went in there and did this and caused, you know, and, and was.
01:08:35.52
Keith
You know. It caused trouble, whatever whatever it was. you know and And you know that the agitator ones are coming from the left side and the patriot ones are coming from the right side. I am right-leaning.
01:08:47.26
Keith
But I think he's a is freaking agitator.
01:08:50.05
Buddy
Yeah, he definitely is. um
01:08:51.24
Keith
i I think that he asked for the trouble he got into going out there yesterday.
01:08:55.61
Buddy
He's either a patriot or an asshole. Depending on.
01:08:58.49
Keith
Yeah, yeah, exactly
01:08:58.91
Buddy
what you what, which way, you know, where you come from as far as, you know, left or right.
01:09:04.92
Keith
My point is that looking at both sides is important because if I had just looked at one. conservative you know viewpoint or news it would have told me that this conservative patriot so and so went and got you know and uh was treated and you know unfairly and and was arrested for this and that and shouldn't have and you know uproar and all this other stuff but i i looked at both and like okay i actually kind of agree with the other side on this one
01:09:29.38
Buddy
Yeah, he he definitely is an agitator, and he gets notoriety and pay, and he's getting backed, I believe. I can't prove it. um don't really care either.
01:09:39.23
Keith
like well he Well, he got pardoned by Trump for January 6th.
01:09:43.67
Buddy
Yeah, and he's getting paid. to do things. uh in my opinion
01:09:48.56
Keith
I bet you he is, yeah.
01:09:49.18
Buddy
Um,
01:09:49.82
Keith
he's got He definitely has money backing him, for sure.
01:09:50.62
Buddy
I've... I don't want to spend the brain or space or the time to go find out because i just he it's just what he does. but
01:09:58.61
Keith
Yeah.
01:10:00.08
Buddy
you know, wrapping up the OSINT.
01:10:01.25
Keith
point point Point being, OSINT is, you have to bet it.
01:10:04.32
Buddy
Yeah, you can need to vet it. you need to And the old school way of doing it was go, I'll listen to... the you know cnn and then i'll listen to fox and somewhere in between is the truth Um,
01:10:15.02
Keith
Usually.
01:10:16.57
Buddy
Ground News kind of takes that out of it. out of the equation So just to recap on OSINT, it's open source intelligence. It's public legal stuff, information that's out there for the most part is legal.
01:10:29.71
Buddy
um And it's out there to produce actionable intelligence, at least it used to be. AI can get in there and screw it up. um because ai is getting better and better and better there's misinformation disinformation they've made it harder for you to collect OSINT stuff, but you know... 10 years ago, you could collect some pretty good sources from OSINT.
01:10:50.01
Keith
So what other type of itchings can go along with intelligence gathering?
01:10:53.31
Buddy
ah
01:10:53.33
Keith
or area study.
01:10:55.02
Buddy
Okay, so we've talked about Humit. And then we talked about OSINT and we're going to get into. There's a lot of different ones. But here's another one that you could use as a prepper.
01:11:05.56
Buddy
um
01:11:06.07
Keith
Okay. Yep.
01:11:07.11
Buddy
is SIGINT. It's signals intelligence. So what is signals intelligence? Well, It is like you were just talking about. you take that bow thing out in your shop and you go out there and you put it on scan
01:11:21.52
Keith
Okay, SIGINT. I did my own SIGINT.
01:11:23.61
Buddy
You are doing SIGINT.
01:11:23.78
Keith
That's cool.
01:11:24.85
Buddy
It can be as sexy as you run a...
01:11:25.46
Keith
Oh.
01:11:28.45
Buddy
uh, a Yagi antenna. and point it in direction. And maybe you you make it. uh to wear it rotates to where you can pick up which a yaga antenna is going to help your signal on your little bow fang radio now you're going to be able to go further and if you raise it up higher you're going to go even further and further
01:11:47.45
Keith
Right, right, line of sight.
01:11:48.10
Buddy
And if you can rotate that thing. you're going to know you're going to pick up more and more and then you figure out what direction that signal is coming from. Um,
01:11:56.74
Keith
o Okay.
01:11:58.85
Buddy
So, like I said, Jake from State Farm that came on. uh the show and talked about you know difference in the radios and stuff he's good at this He's got. some stuff.
01:12:09.53
Buddy
He's got – I'm not going to – Throw him under the bus here, but he's got some good intelligence. collect I actually met him at a SIGINT course. Um,
01:12:17.07
Keith
Cool.
01:12:18.08
Buddy
That's how we met and so There's a few people we've gotten together and we've t We've... practice this.
01:12:29.05
Buddy
techniques and stuff and you can go out and do what's called a fox hunt which you can go out and you have uh the fox hunters and then you got the fox so the fox is going out putting up signals and then the fox hunters go out and it might be in an open field it might be in a town
01:12:42.32
Keith
Try to triangulate.
01:12:43.86
Buddy
And you try to find where that person is. by triangulating, by doing all the things. I don't want to get too far in the weeds because that's a whole other episode, man. Believe me. but Signal's intelligence is... basically collecting communications. um hopefully legally.
01:13:01.45
Buddy
you know, your, your intercepting messages, voice. or data transmission between people. so For instance, on your homestead, you know. you you have your radio set up And you got it in your shop and you're out there, you know.
01:13:17.53
Buddy
Doing whatever you do in your shop and all of a sudden you start getting Signals? You started... hear people chat. you know, it's automatically going to get your ears to perk up, right?
01:13:27.80
Buddy
It's going to send up a red flag because you don't hear shit normally, right?
01:13:28.47
Keith
Right, yeah.
01:13:32.40
Buddy
so
01:13:32.87
Keith
Yeah, no, not at all.
01:13:34.81
Buddy
So you're going to be able to. you know that's going to send up a signal to you so where i live i live between two schools a mid-high and an elementary school and i can turn on my bow thing they're not in school right now but i can turn on in the middle of the day and i'm listening to chatter on scan i'm listening to chatter And I now know. what channels they operate on.
01:13:56.88
Buddy
you know The principals are on one. uh the uh...
01:14:00.95
Keith
Oh. Oh, because they're using radios too.
01:14:03.48
Buddy
Yeah, they're using FRS channels. And some schools will actually go out and get businessmen so they have their own, you know, and it's a little more secure. but i can sit there and listen to these people that you know the the lunchtime uh Uh...
01:14:18.90
Buddy
Playground Monitor has ah is a different channel than what the principals are and the maintenance people are on another channel. So I can tell you what these channels are. at each of the two schools.
01:14:29.89
Buddy
there's a um a golf course. pretty close And they run. you know the maintenance guys they run uh channels too so i can tell you what that and so you know let's say you don't have any of that in your area
01:14:44.86
Keith
Man, it's a type of voyeurism home almost if you think about it.
01:14:47.72
Buddy
You know what? It's... Legal. So go out and get your, go out, you can either use an FRS.
01:14:51.33
Keith
Yeah, yeah.
01:14:55.02
Buddy
which is total it's family uh radio service which is free it's a little bubble pack radio as you buy for you know you should buy it for like 25 you can get like five of them
01:14:57.76
Keith
Right.
01:15:03.28
Keith
Right.
01:15:03.47
Buddy
at sam's or whatever now they're a little more expensive but you get your little bubble pack And if it has a scan feature on it, you put a scan on it and you go and you just listen. Go go out and set. in a Walmart parking lot, go out and sit in a lot of the.
01:15:17.65
Buddy
fast food restaurants use. Uh... radios talk to each other, you know, the guy in the back taking, you know, cooking meats compared to, you know, the person at the counter. um they're talking each other on radios now they're not using the overhead voice thing so you can so You can gather a lot of information.
01:15:35.93
Buddy
by just trial stuff. And that's all c Signet Collection. uh home depot the big box stores They do it too. so Spend $35, GMRS, General Mobile Radio Service license, $35.
01:15:52.44
Buddy
Go out and get it.
01:15:53.63
Keith
I got it.
01:15:54.69
Buddy
Got it to and get you a handle or whatever and then you can go out and do more things um And. it's It's a way of... Gathering.
01:16:06.24
Buddy
information. That you're normally going to be blacked out on So you might you're going to hear people a lot of times will just talk in the clear. You know, like they're talking on a cell phone on these things and you're going to get a lot of information out of it.
01:16:18.56
Keith
ah
01:16:18.91
Buddy
So. So that's your signet intelligence. And there's a lot more things the military can do.
01:16:23.51
Keith
We don't have to go into all the other ones, though.
01:16:25.07
Buddy
Yeah, yeah There's a lot more stuff the the military can do and stuff. but
01:16:30.07
Keith
G-O-N-T is one sigint. You said OSINT.
01:16:32.61
Buddy
Yeah, G-O-N Massant. um gon is basically uh imagery your satellite imagery your map systems and stuff
01:16:39.66
Keith
Oh, okay. Maps. Yeah. Okay.
01:16:41.19
Buddy
yeah so you know it's great to go out and get
01:16:41.65
Keith
Yep.
01:16:44.32
Buddy
you know, different. satellite images of your area or an area you're going to aerial views um
01:16:49.37
Keith
Aerial views.
01:16:52.75
Buddy
especially around your area you know You've never been on your neighbor's. you know Property. You can see if they have a pond you can see if they have a pool that might be good for you know future ops or shit it's a fan and you need some water and they got a swimming pool Damn, that's a water source or a pond. or a creek.
01:17:13.62
Buddy
um maybe they got a canyon that goes through and goes right up to their back door you know you might get hungry one day and have to use that canyon to uh you know sneak up on them or whatever So.
01:17:22.58
Keith
as Steal the corn.
01:17:23.93
Buddy
steal the corn uh or you know maybe you got to go over there and uh help them out in the situation and that's a good egress Dig, you know.
01:17:34.26
Buddy
ah insertion and and degress route or whatever so
01:17:34.81
Keith
Right.
01:17:38.32
Buddy
um So there you go with the... G-O-int. And then massint is the next one. It's measurements and signature intelligence. basically you're going out there and by a lot of times the military and our national defense uses this uh with satellite imagery and they might catch the north koreans for instance with a new rocket launcher and so they'll take a picture of that and they'll start measuring the little things on it.
01:18:08.53
Buddy
the big things on it to see what the hell this thing is, what its capabilities are. um They got... you know, waves of. know taking pictures and you know looking at colors and looking at radiation and and heat and other things like that and and so they can take a picture by doing the things with with the massive thing they can decide what the capabilities are of that equipment.
01:18:33.57
Buddy
So how's that going to help you in the prepper sphere?
01:18:34.12
Keith
Okay.
01:18:36.39
Buddy
Unless you got some really cool shit. um Not so much. but
01:18:42.92
Keith
Well, if you're trying to measure distances, let's say road distances or egress distances, um creek, like lengths of creeks or depths of of ponds. A lot of times, like my neighbor's pond, they got a giant pond down there. And it's it's way down there, but it's it's basically my next door neighbor.
01:18:59.18
Keith
and um it's actually two neighbors they share the same pond it's so big And. um You take your drone out there and look at it. You can't, I mean, it's dark in the middle, so you know it's deep.
01:19:09.75
Keith
you know so i'm getting you know that i don't have to go get a measurement for it i know it's a deep pond it's it's been there forever if you look back through the history on uh google earth it's been there for a long time so i know it holds water so there's a water source why is that important to me i have bees and they need a water source And they traveled to five miles. Now, this this is only, I would say, a mile and a half.
01:19:33.04
Keith
away from me, this pond, so I know my bees are getting water.
01:19:37.09
Buddy
Yeah, and... We use a little bit of this with Helene. We were flying drones and we had drones with certain capabilities and so we could take measurements. on things and we brought them back.
01:19:48.83
Buddy
the show.
01:19:48.72
Keith
That's the high-tech stuff right there.
01:19:50.67
Buddy
Yeah. to show cracks, stress fractures on bridges. you know different things, heat signatures.
01:19:57.43
Keith
Well, I really like using Google Earth because Google Earth has a measurement thing, and I use it all the time.
01:20:02.70
Buddy
Yeah. I use Google or Pro and on my next. uh if we do the next uh episode i'll definitely uh tell you the things I use.
01:20:13.68
Buddy
in the measurement scale because there's there's so many tools out there you know i got my favorites other people have their favorites and but
01:20:20.16
Keith
Yeah.
01:20:20.88
Buddy
I'm kind of simple and I'll keep things simple. so
01:20:23.66
Keith
We'll close it up.
01:20:24.97
Buddy
Well...
01:20:25.09
Keith
Close up the episode.
01:20:26.77
Buddy
So... Basically, if you want to win. Yeah. Go for the win. Collect intelligence. It's as easy as starting a conversation with somebody. It's as easy as getting on your... your computer.
01:20:40.02
Buddy
and doing a little bit of research. Look at both sides of everything.
01:20:44.60
Keith
Okay. okay let's Let's do it this way for the listener. Give me three.
01:20:47.26
Buddy
Yeah.
01:20:50.01
Keith
Principal. You know. Uh... things to do, like three things that are important to do or habits that you can take away from the conversation we had today.
01:21:00.99
Buddy
So get into what I call a battle rhythm. Get into a daily. collection Uh... Just routine, basically. Don't go out and
01:21:12.45
Buddy
Dig for all of it because it takes all day. You got shit to do in your life, right? Let it come to you. While I'm drinking coffee, I'm going through ground news. I'm listening to podcasts ah passively and actively all day long. That's telling me news sources. I'm getting news. I'm listening to both sides. And sometimes listening to BBC, I just start throwing shit and cussing and hitting walls and shit because.
01:21:35.51
Buddy
It's so biased. um And then I listen to Fox News and everything's better, right? because that's the way we are now.
01:21:41.44
Keith
her
01:21:42.07
Buddy
kidding but Get into a routine of where... You're getting all this information brought to you. Don't be scared to talk to people. and and get information. and you know.
01:21:55.50
Buddy
Go out and meet people and know what's going on in your area.
01:22:01.92
Buddy
and be a winner.
